A new client of mine came to me because she caught the red flag of her functional doctor telling her to just lose weight and she’ll control her diabetes.
This woman is hardly overweight. Hardly!!!
Diabetes does not discriminate in body size and many thin women walking around are dealing with diabetes symptoms and have no idea.
Things like afternoon fatigue, brain fog, needing wine at the end of the day to “calm down,” terrible periods, buying the cute little patches to wear during their periods and taking weird gummies for them. Irritable, terrible sleepers… all blood sugar problems.

I know what it’s like to watch my dad have his first heart attack at age 42. He was diagnosed diabetic in his 30s.
Was it because of his food? At that point no it wasn’t. At that point he was under an unimaginable stress load that finally tipped the scales.
He worked 3rd shift as a deputy sheriff, usually patrolling the county alone. One of the largest counties in Indiana to boot.
He was barely sleeping because during the day he was helping remodel my childhood house because the general contractor had a heart attack.
My whole world view from 11 years on was shaped by believing I could do nothing to prevent diabetes and heart disease.
That in fact was false.
Im here today teaching people to beat it just like me, even if you’ve had gestational diabetes- which they say is a death sentence straight to diabetes too.
