Why Community Changes Everything: The Missing Piece in Your Health Journey

There has never been a time in history when health information has been easier to find.

Within seconds, you can google a question, watch a dozen YouTube videos, binge a bunch of reels, or even ask artificial intelligence to explain a complicated diagnosis.

Knowledge has become easily accessible but transformation hasn’t.

That’s the difference we’re talking about today.

Every week I meet women who have spent years researching symptoms, trying supplements, downloading meal plans, listening to podcasts, and reading every book they can get their hands on. They aren’t lacking information. They’re overwhelmed by it.

Somewhere along the way we’ve started believing that one more article, one more podcast, or one more protocol will finally be the missing piece.

Most of the time, it isn’t another piece of information that’s missing but connection.

Information Doesn’t Replace Relationships

Technology is changing the way we live, work, and learn.

I’m thankful for many of those advances. They allow us to learn faster, reach more people, and access incredible resources from almost anywhere in the world.

Technology also has limitations because a search engine doesn’t know your story and artificial intelligence doesn’t know the conversation you had with your husband last night.

It doesn’t know the grief you’ve been carrying for years and it can’t recognize the fear hiding behind the words you didn’t say. It can’t celebrate with you after months of faithful consistency finally begin paying off.

Real healing involves real people, and that’s one reason I care so deeply about building community instead of simply creating content.

Healthcare Has Changed Because People Have Changed

One lesson I learned during my years as both an educator and a clinician is that people don’t learn the same way they did twenty years ago.

Culture changes, needs change, life changes, good teachers adapt and grow, and so do good healthcare providers.

The message doesn’t change, but sometimes the delivery has to.

Many people today aren’t looking for another expert who simply hands them a protocol and disappears until the next appointment.

They’re looking for someone to walk beside them, someone who listens before giving advice.

They want accountability that feels personal instead of transactional. Healing happens differently when someone truly knows your story.

Why I Built the Wilderness of Wellness

Everything we’ve created inside the Wilderness of Wellness has grown out of one simple desire.

I wanted to build the kind of place I wish more people had access to.

A place where education and encouragement exist together, where biblical truth and foundational health work hand in hand. A place where coaching goes beyond handing someone a supplement list and hoping everything works itself out.

Health isn’t about chasing perfection, it’s about faithfully stewarding the body God entrusted to you while learning alongside people who are walking a similar road.

That’s why our community exists. Not because another membership was needed but because people need a place to belong while they’re learning to heal.

Why We Moved to Substack

One of the biggest decisions we’ve made recently was moving our community to Substack.

That decision wasn’t about following trends but it was about creating better conversations.

For a long time we used other platforms to communicate with our members. Those platforms served a purpose, yet they made meaningful conversations difficult.

Live videos disappeared, questions became buried, resources were difficult to organize and people couldn’t easily interact with one another.

Our community deserves better than that.

Substack gives us a place where conversations continue long after an article is published.

Members can ask questions, share victories, encourage one another, read teaching articles, watch live trainings, listen to podcast episodes.

Everything stays together in one place, and is easy to find. That’s the kind of environment where lasting growth happens.

Healing Was Never Meant to Be a Solo Journey

One of the biggest lies many women believe is that they should be able to figure everything out by themselves.

“I should already know this.”

“I don’t want to bother anyone.”

“I’ll ask for help after I get things under control.”

I’ve heard those thoughts countless times.

The truth is, God designed us for community. Scripture continually points us toward encouraging one another, carrying one another’s burdens, speaking truth in love, and walking together.

Health is no different.

Having someone celebrate your victories, challenge your excuses, pray with you, answer your questions, and remind you why you started often becomes the difference between giving up and continuing forward.

Accountability Creates Momentum

Many people hear the word accountability and immediately think about rules but healthy accountability isn’t about shame; it’s about support.

It’s having someone remind you of the commitments you already said mattered and having someone ask how you’re doing because they genuinely care.

It’s having a community that notices when you’ve disappeared and reaches out instead of assuming everything is fine.

Momentum grows when accountability becomes encouragement instead of pressure.

That’s exactly what we’ve worked to build inside the Wilderness of Wellness.

Coaching Helps You Apply What You Already Know

One thing I’ve learned after years of walking alongside patients is that most people don’t need another list of things to do but they do need someone to help them apply what they already know.

Knowledge without implementation rarely creates lasting change.

Life gets busy, schedules fill up, stress increases, children need attention and work becomes demanding.

Those moments aren’t when another checklist changes everything. Those are the moments when coaching matters most.

Sometimes the greatest breakthrough comes from someone asking one simple question.

“What got in the way this week?”

That question opens the door to a conversation that goes far deeper than meal plans or supplement protocols ever could.

Health isn’t built by following perfect routines. Health is built by making faithful decisions, even when life doesn’t unfold the way you expected.

Healing Looks Different for Every Woman

One reason I designed the Wilderness of Wellness the way I did is because every woman walks into this community with a different story.

Some are just beginning to understand the connection between nutrition and their symptoms.

Others have spent years trying everything they can think of and still feel discouraged.

Some have the resources to invest in advanced testing and targeted supplements while others need to begin with foundational nutrition and lifestyle changes because that’s where they are financially and emotionally.

Neither journey is better and both of these women deserve support.

Healing isn’t a race, but it’s learning how to faithfully steward the season you’re currently living in while continuing to move forward.

That’s why we’ve created clear pathways that meet women where they are instead of expecting everyone to begin at the same place.

You Don’t Have to Walk This Journey Alone

I continue showing up every week through the podcast, through the Wilderness of Wellness, and through Substack because I want you to know there is a place where you can ask questions, grow in wisdom, and be encouraged by women who understand what you’re experiencing.

Learning certainly matters but connection matters just as much.

Education becomes far more powerful when it’s paired with accountability, encouragement, and real relationships.

Whether you begin by subscribing to our free Substack community, joining us inside Adventures, or simply continuing to listen to these podcast episodes each week, my prayer is that you stop trying to carry this journey by yourself. God never intended for His people to heal in isolation, join a community of fellow believers who care about your growth and well being.
