Your Labs Say “Normal”—So Why Do You Feel Like You’re Dying?

Blood sugar, cortisol, liver load, and the real reason Christian women are being dismissed—and how to take your health back.

You told the truth in a paper gown under buzzing fluorescent lights:
“I’m exhausted. I can’t focus. I’m gaining weight. I wake up tired. I don’t feel like myself.”

The screen flickered, the keys clicked, and you heard it: “Your labs look normal.”
Something in you sank, but another part whispered back: No. Something’s wrong.

This is the moment I meet so many women—quietly hurting, faithfully showing up, and wondering if they’re the problem. You’re not dramatic. You’re not “making it up.” You’re experiencing dysfunction long before it turns into a diagnosable disease. And yes, traditional medicine is excellent at emergencies and surgery—but it isn’t designed to restore function.

What “Normal” Labs Miss. Here’s Why You Still Feel Terrible

Traditional medicine is built to find disease, not dysfunction. By the time a lab value is flagged high/low on a standard report, you’ve typically been trending there for years. What you’re feeling now is the early warning system—your symptoms—doing its job.

Beneath your “normal” labs, here’s what I see every day:

  • Blood sugar swinging like a pendulum. Morning caffeine and skipped meals → afternoon crash → nighttime cravings.
  • Cortisol on overdrive. Your nervous system hasn’t downshifted in years.
  • Liver congestion. The liver is inflamed and behind on its God-designed workload.
  • Cells in survival mode. Survival biology stores fat, slows thyroid conversion, disrupts hormones, and kills libido and focus.

Dysfunction shows up in your daily life long before it shows up as disease on a lab.

What It Looks Like in Real Life

  • Coffee before your feet hit the floor, “I’ll eat later.”
  • 1 pm: foggy, edgy, starving—but “being good,” so you grab something tiny.
  • Late afternoon: so tired you could cry, you pray for strength, then raid the pantry.
  • Night: shame, promises to start over tomorrow, poor sleep, repeat.

This isn’t a willpower problem—it’s a physiology problem reinforced by rushed care and generic advice that never addresses root causes.

A Word to My Sisters in Christ

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Stewardship isn’t vanity; it’s obedience. The enemy doesn’t have to wreck your life—he just needs to keep you numb, inflamed, and exhausted enough to disengage from your calling, your marriage, and your joy. We can pray—and we must—but we also need to act in alignment with how God designed the body to heal.

Traditional Medicine Isn’t the Villain—It’s Just Not the Whole Answer

I love my Christian MDs. We need the hospital when things break. But thriving requires a different toolkit: food timing and composition, nervous system regulation, mineral support, drainage and detox in the right order, and day-to-day accountability to live it out.

The Physiology You Can’t Ignore

  • Blood Sugar: When it spikes and crashes, your body hears one message: We’re not safe.
  • Cortisol: Stays high to keep you upright → anxious, inflamed, wired-and-tired.
  • Thyroid & Sex Hormones: Conversion slows; progesterone/testosterone go sideways; cycles, sleep, libido, mood suffer.
  • Liver: Overloaded and under-resourced, it can’t process what it needs to.

If your daily rhythms don’t stabilize blood sugar and calm the nervous system, nothing “sticks.”

Three Steps to Stop the Spiral—Starting Today

1) Stop outsourcing your reality.
Your body isn’t lying. Symptoms are not annoyances to suppress; they’re signals to interpret. Listen to them.

2) Stabilize your foundation.

  • Eat within 60 minutes of waking (or right after thyroid meds).
  • Protein-forward meals (real protein, not just eggs/peanut butter) + healthy fats (butter/ghee/tallow/avocado/coconut) + whole-food carbs (fruit, roots, veg).
  • Aim for steady blood sugar all day; stop white-knuckling to 1–2 pm.
  • Create an evening downshift: soft lights, mineral/adaptogen nightcap, journaling/prayer, and screens off.

3) Stop doing this alone.
Healing isn’t meant to happen in isolation. You need a safe, faith-aligned space for real implementation, support, and accountability.
