Why You Keep Starting Over on Your Health Journey– And How to Finally Break the Cycle

You set your wellness goals. You’re all in. Meal prep? Done. Workouts? Scheduled. Water intake? On point.

Then life happens. A sick kid, a stressful week, or maybe you just lose motivation. Suddenly, you’re off track, telling yourself, I’ll start over on Monday.

Sound familiar?

If you’ve ever felt stuck in this exhausting loop, you’re not alone. And here’s the truth: it’s not about willpower, discipline, or wanting it badly enough.

Most women struggle with consistency in their health because they’re missing three key pieces:

1. A system that works even when motivation fades
2. Accountability that keeps them showing up
3. A flexible approach that adapts to real life

Let’s break this down and show you how to finally create lasting consistency in your wellness journey.

1. Relying on Motivation Instead of Systems

Motivation is a terrible strategy. It’s fleeting, inconsistent, and changes based on stress levels, sleep, and emotions.

The women who succeed in their wellness journey don’t have superhuman willpower. They have systems in place that keep them going even when they don’t feel like it.

Inside The Wilderness of Wellness, we focus on habit stacking—building healthy behaviors into your existing routines so they become automatic.

Example: Instead of saying, I need to drink more water, try: I’ll drink a full glass while my coffee brews.

Example: Instead of setting unrealistic workout goals, try: After brushing my teeth, I’ll do 10 squats.

These micro-habits create effortless consistency—so you stop starting over.

2. Going It Alone Instead of Getting Support

Women are so good at supporting everyone else—but when it comes to our own health, we often try to do it alone.

I don’t want to bother anyone.
I should be able to figure this out myself.
What if people judge me?

But here’s the reality: Trying to do wellness alone is the fastest way to fail.

When no one is checking in, it’s easy to let things slide.

  • One skipped workout turns into a month off.
  • One off-track meal spirals into, I’ll start fresh on Monday.
  • One rough day makes you feel like you’re failing—when you’re actually just human.

The solution? A safe, faith-based community that supports, challenges, and uplifts you.

Inside The Wilderness of Wellness, you get:

3. Setting Unrealistic Goals Instead of Flexible Ones

One of the biggest reasons women fail in their health journey is perfectionism.

I’m cutting out sugar completely.

I’m working out every day at 5 AM.

I’m meal-prepping for the entire month.

These are unsustainable, and when life happens (because it will), the whole plan falls apart.

Instead, I teach my clients how to set minimum & stretch goals so there’s always progress, not perfection.

  • Minimum Goal: Walk for 5 minutes, 5 days a week.
  • Stretch Goal: Walk for 30 minutes, 5 days a week.
  • Minimum Goal: Drink 40oz of water daily.
  • Stretch Goal: Drink 80oz daily.

This way, you always win—even on the hard days.
