Last night I went to the final session of my Bible study. The study is called Found: Quitting the Game of Hide and Seek. Last night some how the topic came up of our inner worth and our inner beauty. The teacher had a dramatic interpretation performed with the song by Nicole Nordeman: “Beautiful for Me” was played during this. I was delighted in the reminder of who I am and why I’m so important.
I looked around the room for some reason, but I saw a lady crying–flat out sobbing. That wasn’t it. As I continued to look around, it seemed there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. I then was brought to tears and mourning for these ladies (and myself in those sad times that I believe the lies.). Those women broke my heart!!
So it got me to thinking… when do we allow ourselves to break? When do we allow the outside world to affect us so much and then begin to believe that we aren’t enough? What is your story?
As moms of daughters and sons we need to feel confident in who we are. We must be the example for our children. We need to be the woman we want our son to marry. Do you want your son to bear the burden of his wife not feeling beautiful? Do we want our daughters to imitate our emotions and feelings of our own self-worth?
Let’s make a change in our minds and hearts to block out the lies. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!
