A man in uniform.
My dream husband.
My dream life.
I had a feeling that I would marry into some form of uniformed life. After all, I grew up watching my father prepare his uniform at night before going into work as a deputy sheriff. Everything about this routine seemed comfortable and reassuring once I married my husband.
The ironing, the starch, the combat boots with synthetic toe that I inevitably stub my toe on at least once a week.
My husband is currently at 19 years and 4 months active duty service in the United States Air Force. We see retirement down the line coming closer and closer. While he will most likely not retire at 20 years exactly, he will have to retire eventually.
Then gone will be the comforts of the military life.
Those of you that have been following my blog or watching posts on social media know God is at work in me and some things are coming to fruition. The first of these things coming to fruition has already been announced and I’d like to announce it here, as well.
I will be leading a Catalyst Group on IgniteWomen.com entitled “Married to the Military.” This will be open to all wives of the military. Those of us that actually come second in our marriages instead of first.
And if you or someone you know could benefit from this group or a membership to IgniteWomen.com, I’m offering a free Premium membership to anyone who would like to sign up! Use the code: 3Free
